Carey was almost 5'10 tall when she became a high-end model. The popularity of her was with American designer Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren was extremely high. Her father, a distinguished scientist, who was awarded the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists' 1979 Scientist of the Year prize, is a highly respected scientist. In the course of his career Carey was raised all over the world. When she was attending an institution called the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. After moving to France and briefly resided at Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision to return to New York and continue her training. Then, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines featured her on their covers. She was a full-time student at New York University, obtaining the degree in Literature, which she earned in between assignments as a model. When she arrived in New York she began to pursue acting. She made her acting debut by playing a minor part in the film 'Club Paradise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. In her spare time, she enjoys ski, wind surfing as well as rock climbing, and white water rafting.
