
Kate Beckinsale was born on 26 July 1973 in Hounslow, Middlesex, England, and has resided in London throughout her adult life. Her mother is Judy Loe, who has been in numerous British sitcoms and dramas. She continues to be an actress, predominantly in British productions on television. Her breakthrough role came after several appearances on television series when she was chosen to play the role of a romantic comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" in 1993. She has appeared in many notable films since then, for instance "Emma" 1996, "Pearl Harbor 2001" and "Underworld 2003" that spawned five additional films within the franchise. Beckinsale played alongside Jessica Biel, Colin Farrel in "Total Recall" in 2012. She also won awards like "Best Actress" at Sitges Catalan International Film Festival. The Evening Standard British Film Awards as well as the National Film Awards U.K.
